When I was coming through, seen as Pep’s replacement, he treated me like a friend and gave me advice. But for the crowd it was hard. I was seen as the ‘outsider’ despite being from La Masia, and viewed as the one pushing Pep out. It made me unsure of whether to stay or go look for a career elsewhere. In the end I was (just) too stubborn to leave.
